Privacy Policy
The purpose of the Privacy Policy is to provide general information regarding the processing of personal data organized and carried out by the Academic Information Centre, in accordance with the principles of personal data processing set out in the European Parliament and Council Regulation No. 2016/679 of April 27, 2016, on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and the free movement of such data (General Data Protection Regulation).
The data controller for personal data is the Academic Information Centre (Reg. No. LV40003239385, legal address: Vaļņu iela 2, Rīga, LV-1050, office address: Dzirnavu iela 16/k2, Rīga, LV-1010).
The Academic Information Centre will process personal data for the fulfillment of legal obligations, the execution of contractual obligations, ensuring public information, and other predefined purposes.
Personal data will be processed lawfully, fairly, and in a transparent manner to the data subject. They will be adequate, relevant, and limited to what is necessary for the purposes of processing, in accordance with the principle of proportionality.
Personal data will be processed and stored until the goal of the data processing is achieved, and in compliance with the regulations on document retention. After the retention period expires, the data will be deleted.
On the website of the Academic Information Centre (www.aic.lv), there are links to other websites, which may have different usage and personal data protection policies.
The individual has the right to withdraw consent for data processing at any time. The Academic Information Centre will evaluate and, if the personal data is no longer needed for the previously defined processing purposes, they will be deleted.
The individual is informed that they may be photographed and filmed at events organized by the Academic Information Centre. The data will be used to inform the public about the event. If the individual does not wish to be photographed or filmed, they must inform the event organizer in advance.

The individual has the right to file a complaint about the personal data processing carried out by the Academic Information Centre with the Data State Inspectorate if they believe that their personal data processing violates their rights in accordance with applicable laws.
The Academic Information Centre reserves the right to make changes or additions to this notice by publishing the updated version on the Academic Information Centre website.
